Equally at home writing horn arrangements for jazz pieces as he is among the shifting harmonics of Sonic Youth style guitar swirl, he’s an intelligent, creative, supremely capable guy. That’s why he’s one of my favorite composers for film and other visual media, his only limitations come from the ones you place on him, and if you’re smart, you keep those to a minimum. You hire him for some cinematic music and then find yourself trying to figure out how you can form a band with him even when he lives in a different city."
